Abstract |
|
|
We have synthesized a luminescent iridium(III) complex and investigated its ability to act as a luminescent dual G-quadruplex and i-motif probe. Based on its selectivity towards both G-quadruplex and i-motif DNA, we have developed a label-free oligonucleotide-based “OR” logic gate by using the target-induced conformational transitions of cytosine- or guanine-rich oligonucleotides into i-motif and G-quadruplex structures in the presence of H+ and K+ ions, respectively, as chemical inputs.
