Abstract |

|
The heteroleptic ruthenium(II) complex cis-[RuCl2(PPh3)2L] (2) was obtained in high yield from the reaction of [RuCl2(PPh3)3] precursor (1) with the 2-(2'-pyridyl)quinoxaline ligand (L). The complex was structurally and spectroscopically characterized, including a single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. It was verified that the complex 2 acts as a catalyst for the transfer hydrogenation of benzophenone to benzhydrol.
